Including the contribution of Northwest England to the development of clocks and watches.

The catalogue of two AHS exhibitions for 2008 from Februari to April at Prescot Museum and the Williamson Museum and Art Gallary, Birkenhead.
The catalogue is written, illustrated and compiled to the highest professional standard. Contributions from eminent figures in the horological field include Professor Alan Smith, Jonathan Betts, John Robey, Alan Treherne, David Penney, Jeff Darken and others.
Exhibits include Harrison longcase clock No.1, Mudge Blue and Mudge Green, Pennington No.16 and more than twenty other chronometers, most of which come from private collections. There is a strong display of Liverpool made watches together with supporting ephemera. There is a substantial section of fifteen rare turret clocks, eight magnificent Liverpool longcase clocks and four fine regulators, most from private collections. Additionally there is a display of Lancashire Watch Company watches.
The catalogue of 136 pages with soft cover (270 x 210 mm) is in full color with many detailed illustrations of the 127 exhibits.

Brillie Electric Clocks
by Robert Miles and Martin Ridout.

This book is a translation and compilation of a number of French brochures and manuals, charting a wide range of Brillié clocks, together with instructions for installation and practical details for repair.

The catalogue of the Time & Place Exhibition at the Museum of the History of Science, Oxford, 25 November 2006 – 15 April 2007.

All sixty-eight exhibits lavishly illustrated in colour plus six short articles on: The Greenhills of Kent (Michael Pearson); John London of Bristol (Sir George White); John Watts of Stamford (Michael Lee); James Woolley of Codnor (Jeff Darken); Henry Hindley of York (Chris Watson); and Samuel Deacon of Barton-in-the-Beans (John Thornton).
Other contributions include an introduction by Dr Jim Bennett, Director of the Museum of the History of Science, Oxford, a bibliography of regional clock books by John Robey and Tom Spittler and a list of museums with horological content by David Thompson, Curator of Horology, British Museum.

Thomas Tompion at The Dial and Three Crowns
by Jeremy Evans.

Comprised of an expanded version of the author's Dingwall-Beloe lecture of 2003 (60 pages) with extra colour illustrations, and a concise checklist (64 pages) in tabular form of all items known to the author made by Thomas Tompion and his apprentices and associates. The checklist includes abbreviated basic information about each item.
Gold-blocked hard covers with gloss laminated dustjacket, 132 pages in all. Page size 23.3 x 29.1 cm.

'Huygens Legacy - The Golden Age of the Pendulum Clock' UITVERKOCHT

Ter gelegenheid van de door de AHS - Dutch Section georganiseerde tentoonstelling 'Huygens Legacy - The Golden Age of the Pendulum Clock' in het najaar van 2004 op paleis 'Het Loo' is een zeer luxe uitgevoerde engelstalige catalogus verschenen, met hoogwaardige paginagrote kleurenfotos van elke klok die aanwezig was op de tentoonstelling.
Introducties bij elk hoofdstuk vertellen het verhaal achter de klokken en leiden de lezer langs het pad van de ontwikkeling van de slingerklok.
De catalogus biedt een onovertroffen overzicht van de mooiste klokken, van de belangrijkste makers, uit de drie toonaangevende landen van het eind van de 17e eeuw: Holland, Frankrijk en Engeland.
De catalogus is 320 x 270mm en 320 pagina's dik en is een onmisbare aanvulling voor de boekenkast van iedere klokkenliefhebber.
